Based on providers’ published policies. No provider pays for placement.

This page is published by Banxta. It explains what the sentence above means in practice: how Banxta makes money, how providers are ordered, and where our facts come from.

How Banxta makes money

It does not, today. Banxta is free during the pilot. No provider pays us: we take no commissions, no referral or introduction fees, and no payment for placement or advertising. Users pay nothing either.

If that changes

If we ever earn money in connection with a provider, for example a fee for an introduction, we will say so on this page, and on every result and report it affects, before it applies. Payment will never decide whether a provider is shown or where it appears.

How providers are ordered

Providers are ordered by how well each provider’s published policy, currencies and published fees match your answers, never by payment. Providers whose published rules exclude a company like yours are listed separately, with the rule and its source. A position in the list is not a prediction that a provider will accept you.

Links to providers

Results and reports link to providers’ own pages: the published source of each fact we quote and, for each provider that does not exclude you, the page on which it offers its business account. A provider that excludes you gets no link to its business account, only to the source of the rule that excludes you. These are not affiliate links: we add no tracking or referral parameters, no provider pays us for them, and following one does not pass the address of your result to the provider. We check every business-account link each week, and we hide a link whose page is gone, has moved off the provider’s own site, or could not be reached for 30 days.

Where our facts come from

  • Policies. The provider’s own published pages, such as its eligibility rules, terms and fee pages. Each quote comes with its source and the date we checked it.
  • Licences. The regulator’s public register where we can read it, for example the Financial Conduct Authority’s register in the UK. Where a register cannot be read that way, we rely on the provider’s own statement about its licence.
  • Fees. The provider’s published prices, each fee with its own date.

Some quotes were gathered with a tool that reads and summarises web pages. Where the tool summarised a page rather than reproducing the provider’s words, we treat the fact as a weaker source, as described below.

How fresh the facts are

  • A provider appears in results only while the check of its licence is no more than 30 days old. If that check goes stale, the provider drops out of every result until we check it again.
  • Every quote and fee carries the date we last checked it. Where a result shows one date for a group of facts, it is the oldest of them.
  • Policies change. If a date is older than 90 days, check with the provider before you apply.

How strong a source must be

We show a provider as excluding you only when its own published words say so clearly. Where our source is weaker, for example a summary or a report from someone else, we show a condition to confirm with the provider in writing instead. Where a provider publishes nothing about your business activity, we say so; we do not treat silence as a yes.

Provider names and logos

Some pages show a provider’s logo next to its name. The logos belong to the providers, and we use them only to identify them. A logo does not mean that a provider endorses Banxta or pays us. See our Terms of Service and /marks/LICENSE.txt.

Reporting a factual error

If you think a fact on Banxta is wrong or out of date, write to info@banxta.app with the link to the page, what you believe is wrong and, if you have one, the source. We check each report against the provider’s own published source and correct the page if it is wrong.
